Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Ticker Talk service ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service.

2. Permitted Use

The Service is designed for:

  • Personal stock research and educational exploration
  • Analysing publicly available SEC filings, price data, and news
  • Building watchlists and saving custom research filters
  • Exporting research data for personal use

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Service to:

3.1 Illegal or Harmful Activities

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Engage in or facilitate market manipulation, insider trading, or securities fraud
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users or individuals
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code

3.2 Misuse of the Service

  • Provide personalized investment advice to third parties based on Service output
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Service or its data without written permission
  • Present AI-generated analysis as your own professional financial advice
  • Use the Service to create competing products or services

3.3 Technical Abuse

  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data at scale without authorization
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or other security measures
  • Overwhelm or degrade the Service through excessive automated requests
  • Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that do not belong to you

3.4 Content Violations

  • Upload or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, or offensive
  • Impersonate other users, companies, or entities
  • Share false or misleading financial information
  • Post spam, phishing links, or unsolicited commercial messages

4. API Usage

If you have API access (Enterprise plan), additional rules apply:

  • Respect rate limits as documented in the API documentation
  • Do not share API keys with unauthorized parties
  • Include appropriate attribution and disclaimers when displaying Service data in your applications
  • Do not cache or store data beyond the permitted retention period

5. Account Responsibility

  • Do not share your account credentials with others
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • Report any unauthorized access to security@tickertalk.io immediately

6. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate violations of this AUP. If we determine that a violation has occurred, we may take action including:

  • Issuing a warning
  • Temporarily suspending your account
  • Permanently terminating your account
  • Reporting activity to law enforcement if required

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to abuse@tickertalk.io.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
